Who We Are

Aakar Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to the financial empowerment of persons with disabilities. We focus on what they can do, nurturing talent, providing relevant skill development and technical education, and building real pathways for income-generating opportunities. Our work is rooted in one simple belief: living with dignity is everyone’s right.

Too often, persons with disabilities are excluded from the economy, not because of their disability, but because the systems in place are not built for inclusion. Aakar Foundation seeks to correct that. We step in where support is most needed but least available: creating access to skills, markets, and financial tools. Through our programs, individuals are trained in market-ready skills and supported to express their talents, be it in music, arts, literature, or technology. We also create platforms to showcase these talents, such as art exhibitions, celebrating ability in every form.

We also assist in supporting persons with disabilities and those working for them to develop business plans, access funds, and reach customers by promoting their work. Our role is that of a bridge between passion and livelihood.

True inclusion begins when society stops seeing disability as a limitation and starts creating space for potential, and that is the future Aakar Foundation is building.
