Wheels of Expression

On 29 July 2025, Aakar Foundation conducted the second workshop in its three-part art series at the Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre, Kavre. The session, titled “Wheels of Expression,” was designed for persons with recent spinal cord injuries who are beginning their rehabilitation journey.

In this workshop, participants used their wheelchairs as instruments of art. A large canvas was spread across the floor, and through rolling their wheelchairs over colors, participants created collective patterns and expressions.

The activity highlighted creativity as a powerful tool for resilience, self-expression, and empowerment. It demonstrated that art can transcend traditional forms and be adapted in ways that promote inclusion and celebrate the strength of individuals living with disabilities.
