Saturday Music & Art Session

Every Saturday, Aakar Foundation Nepal hosts a warm and welcoming Saturday Music & Art Session in Jawalakhel. It’s a friendly, inclusive space where children and individuals with and without disabilities come together to draw, paint, explore music, and enjoy simple creative activities.

Facilitated by experts and supported by caring volunteers, participants are encouraged to express themselves freely, build connections, and simply enjoy being part of a shared space. The sessions are rooted in joy, creativity, and acceptance.

What is this session about?

We often talk about building an inclusive society but most of our spaces are still separate. Sessions for persons with disabilities happen in one corner, while everyone else remains in another. And somehow, we expect inclusion to happen on its own.

Our Saturday Music & Art Session is a small attempt to do things differently. We bring individuals with and without disabilities into the same space; to play, create, and simply be together. There’s no pressure and no rigid structure; just music, art, and shared moments. And maybe that’s the point. Inclusion doesn’t begin with big ideas; it begins with people sharing the same space.

We offer a safe, welcoming environment where individuals with autism can explore music, art, and self-expression alongside others.
